Libra Ingress 2020 – The Scales of Justice

The Sun moves into Libra on September 22, 2020. This marks the Equinox, when the length of day and the length of night are equal. As one of the four Cardinal points, the chart for the Equinox influences the entire season.

This is also the last Cardinal Ingress before the Great Conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn that will occur within hours of the Solstice.

This year has been quite a year. The astrological year begins with the entry of the Sun into Aries, which is the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. This is when the pandemic started spreading around the world in earnest, and many countries and states instituted quarantines and lockdowns.

A few months later, we had a Solar Eclipse that occurred within hours of the June Solstice. This brought a great deal of social unrest, particularly in the United States.

We are still dealing with the aftermath of this and there has been quite a bit more that has occurred. Now, in the Northern Hemisphere, we are entering the Fall Equinox, the traditional time of the harvest.

This is a time of death, but it is also a time of preparation for new birth. We are heading into the dark half of the year. This time is also associated with justice and judgment. The symbol for Libra is the scales, and that is a part of the Archetype of this sign.

THE LIBRA INGRESS CHART

With this in mind, let us look at the chart for the Libra Ingress of 2020.

This is an intense chart. Mars is in a tight square with Saturn in Cardinal Signs, and both planets are retrograde. This is difficult and tense aspect, which can create a great deal of frustration. Mars and Saturn both want to act, but they have different ideas of how they want to do so. Mars wants to charge forward, and Saturn prefers slow deliberate motion with a plan.

This aspect also indicates frustration and anger with long established power structures. It is intensified by the presence of Pluto. The influence of Pluto can be avoided by turning toward the Light, but this will need to happen on a collective level as well as an individual one.

Jupiter is also moving closer to Saturn, but she is not quite in orb. In most cases, this would be a good sign. In this case, however, Jupiter does not have much power because she is in her fall in Capricorn.

An interesting and hopeful part of this chart is Mercury. Mercury is in Libra opposing Mars and squaring Saturn. Mercury has some dignity in Libra, but she is not as strong as either Mars or Saturn who are both in signs that they rule. Still, she is moving direct while both Mars and Saturn are going retrograde.

Libra is the sign of the peacemaker and the diplomat as well as the sign of justice. Mercury in Libra has the ability to negotiate between Mars and Saturn and could create the opportunity for people with different opinions and beliefs to talk to one another and come to some agreements.

This is a chart of action. All of the traditional planets are in either Cardinal Signs or Fire Signs.

Fire 火

This is also a very hot and dry chart. The only traditional planet in a wet sign is Mercury and the only ones in cold signs are Jupiter and Saturn.

Events will take place quickly and decisively this season.

RECOMMENDATIONS

All that is happening and that will happen this season is a part of the changes that are to come. Below is a part of a passage that has been attributed to a Hopi Elder:

There is a river flowing now very fast.  It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.  They will try to hold on to the shore.   They will feel they are torn apart and will suffer greatly. …
… nothing personally, Least of all ourselves.  For the moment that we do,  our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt A Hopi Elder Speaks attributed to an unnamed Hopi elder Hopi Nation Oraibi, Arizona

You can read the entire passage herehttps://www.communityworks.info/hopi.htm

Although there will be continued tumult surrounding us, focus on your immediate surroundings. If you are in the midst of one of the storms that is happening, that is enough to deal with. If you are not, be grateful that you are healthy and safe. This gratitude makes a difference.

As much as you can, try to stay above the storm. You can do more by holding on to the Light than you can by getting caught in the whirlwind.

Be willing to listen to those who are different from you and who have different beliefs. There is a real opportunity for understanding and negotiation now.

Take heart. We are nearing the finish line. Hold on to hope for the new era that is to come.
